This pattern from around 1903 is a curious mix of styles that allows
its use in a variety of interiors. The birds and foliage are distinctly Voysey's however
they are framed by an unfamiliar mix of design that suggests Mackintosh or Vienna.
"The Ballad" would be comfortable in almost any room and is custom
scaleable for bungalow to grand manor.

Are there bats in your belfry? You can end all doubt of that with the addition
of "The Bat Border" to your room. These lovely sleepy time creatures of the night
will certainly keep any thought of bed bugs away while you sleep tight under their
watchful sentry. The soft colors of this moonlit sky with mists and clouds in shades
of browns, mauve, and cream promote the tranquility for bedrooms, libraries or any
room where a nocturnal feel is desired. This is a scaleable pattern and may be printed
to your size requirements.

This design began life as a repeating pattern, and has been adapted
into a border that would be quite happy to find a place in your kitchen or any room
where just a bit of ornament is desired. Judging from the expression of the bird, the
strawberries are of the hot house variety and are to be seen rather than eaten. Good
for you, and too bad for the bird.

This is a simple landscape frieze from
Voysey's most prolific period. The gentle
arching of the holly tree suggesting
gothic tracery, and the mourning dove
suggesting peace, both reflect Voysey's
childlike perspective of an ordered world
under a benevolent deity. This border
would be appropriate for any room seeking
an uncomplicated relaxing design.

This design debuted in 1893 in an article entitled "An Interview with
Mr. CFA Voysey" in the first volume of what was to become the most important design
periodical of the Arts and Crafts Movement, The Studio magazine. The pattern filled
three quarters of the first page! The childlike medievalism of "The Minstrel" with its
rich colors and simple repeating nature evokes a fresh and uncluttered view of a
stylized English countryside. This pattern may be used as a border or may be scaled
up to serve as a mural for any room where a bit of youthful enthusiasm is desired.

This design, like our Angelic Forest, dates from 1930. It is a
bucolic nursery view of late 19th century rural England. "The Shepherd" was designed
as a nursery frieze but can work equally well in any interior for the young at heart.
Drawn with Voysey's ability to see with the eye of a child, all of the many subjects
in the image are of equal importance and thus of almost equal size.
This is a variable scale image and has been printed in mural size as well as
smaller border size.
